Meet

Kirk Simpson

Originally from Santa Rosa, California, Kirk Simpson has spent much of his life immersed in motorsports, developing his knowledge and passion for racing both behind the wheel and in the pits.

Kirk began his racing career competing in Outlaw Karts, where he earned numerous main-event victories and two championships over five years. He later transitioned into sprint car racing, finishing second in his rookie season at Petaluma Speedway.

After stepping away from driving, Kirk continued his involvement in motorsports as crew chief for his younger brother, Klint Simpson. Together, they earned victories in both winged and non-winged sprint car competition. His mechanical knowledge and leadership earned him Crew Chief of the Year in 2016.

In 2021, Kirk joined Abacus Racing, bringing years of experience in short-track competition. His contributions to the team’s success were further recognized in 2024 when he was named USAC Chief Mechanic of the Year.
