Kirk Simpson from Santa Rose, California, joined Abacus Racing in 2021 with extensive short-track experience. Kirk grew up racing Outlaw Karts and sprint cars. During his five years racing Outlaw Karts, Kirk won numerous Main Events and Two Championships. In sprint cars, he finished second during his rookie year while racing at Petaluma Speedway.

After stepping down from racing, Kirk Simpson took the position of Crew Chief for his younger brother, Klint. Together, they amassed wins in wing and non-wing sprint car competitions. In 2016, he won Crew Chief of the Year.
